                    Senior Manager Global Procurement

Your mission:
Maximize value for the Ferring Group overall by providing efficient procurement solutions and deals through leveraging economies of scale, optimizing spend, optimizing processes and capturing suppliers’ innovation for the assigned categories mentioned below.

Act as a business partner and change agent by fully understanding business needs of the supported categories across PS entities and ensuring buy-in and successful implementation of sourcing and procurement solutions
Categories in scope: Packaging & Medical Devices (Direct Materials)

Main responsibilities:
  • Ensure engagement & management of relationship with stakeholders in areas of responsibility
  • Build in-depth knowledge of supported Divisions
  • Gather spend information within supported entities to identify areas of quality, lead-times, inventory improvements opportunities, savings, supply risk mitigation  and innovation
  • Develop procurement strategy for management approval to achieve the target of the supported Divisions
  • Seek and ensure procurement early involvement in innovation projects which may impact the spend category
  • Provide a high level of Procurement service to supported Divisions that will support sales and growth
Establish and manage spend category strategy 
  • Identify internal stakeholders and gather information related to the demand of the category
  • Gather information related to the current and potential supply market in the category, bringing innovation-driven solutions
  • Review status of relationships with current suppliers
  • Interact with internal customers to identify Procurement opportunities and evaluate business opportunities 
  • Plan and manage Procurement projects to continuously improve TCO and category performance in general (e.g. quality, lead-times, inventory levels, innovation, responsible sourcing…)
  • Train and coach the Ferring Entity Buyers on respective category spend
Carry out sourcing activities
  • Engage with users to understand/clarify Procurement needs
  • Build multi-functional teams and drive Procurement projects in compliance with the Global Procurement Strategy
  • Lead Procurement projects globally following up the Ferring Sourcing Process (RFI, RFQ, negotiation, contracting)
  • Link with all internal partners (Finance, Regulatory, QA, QC…) for compliance-related topics as well
Carry out supplier relationship management

  • Segment and rationalize the existing supply base in respective category spend
  • Analyse risks and set-up risk mitigation plan 
  • Proactively work with suppliers to strengthen business relations (reduce lead times, improve overall supply chain performance, and reduce costs) 
  • Set-up of supplier continuous improvement program where appropriate
  • Support organizational projects to successfully implement best Procurement practices globally, actively challenging the status quo
Performance management
  • Develop and maintain a culture of performance in the Procurement function in own area of responsibility, resulting in continuous improvement of costs and customer service level
  • Track and report achievements to PS Procurement Director

Required Experience & Competences:

  • University level and master in procurement
  • 5 to 10 international experience in Procurement/contracting management, out of which, 3 years in a project manager level position
  • Ability to represent Ferring's interests to outside professionals and suppliers
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Decision making ability to purchase goods or services in alignment with the objectives of the supported entities
  • Comprehensive understanding of Procurement processes and knowledge of best practices for sourcing, supplier management and procure-to-pay
  • Mandatory experience in Procurement in a pharmaceutical or medical devices environment 
  • Experience of project management in a complex (multi-cultural / multi-functional) scope
  • Financial background is an asset
  • Ability to manage relationships with Entities management
